Srs question, how was your game?

    Will Wight

That last game was impossible to win. I did pretty well, but our bot lane fed like crazy. They had given up thirteen kills by fourteen minutes.   Otherwise, doing pretty well.

Who is your favorite LoL character, and why is it Udyr?

    Will Wight

Are you ghosting me right now? I've literally been playing nothing but Udyr since the book was out, because he's busted this patch.   I'm playing Udyr right now.

    Lil' Blue

We can see who you're playing on Discord. Discord is creepy.

    Will Wight

Oh, for real? I've only ever seen "playing League of Legends."     Thanks, creepy Discord!

Hmm this is probably RAFO (Read and find out) territory , but it's said that insight is required to take truegold to underlord, is the tempering of body in soulfire affected by insight? as in do underlord bodies have changes to better accomodate their path or is it like iron irrespective of their path?

    Will Wight

    You are correct, RAFO.

Hey Will, have the additional region releases helped the book numbers significantly?

    Will Wight

No, the regions have not helped the book numbers significantly. 90% or more of my sales come from Amazon.com.   I was never concerned that the absence of the UK and the other regions would jeopardize my bottom line, but I still want fans in those regions to have a better experience at launch.
Footnote: This is referring to Ghostwater.

Why did you choose the name Uru

    Will Wight

Uru has been one of the names I’ve used since high school; I thought it was cool that it was short, spelled the same forwards and backwards, and made up of two letters that are also words.   Originally, I used the name for a character in a short story I half-finished. He was a wizard that acted as an intermediary for a pantheon of warring gods that couldn’t move against each other directly. He would hire him out to the god that would reward him with the most powerful artifact.

    Lil' Blue

Will, did you use the "should have gone for the head line" and then portalling away from IW?

    Will Wight

I probably will use that someday.

    Lil' Blue

but you did xD she teleports away right after this too!

    Will Wight

Oh dang, that was unintentional.   Curses! Missed opportunity.

Did you review Infinity war? if not how did you like it?

    Will Wight

I haven't reviewed it yet, but I did like it.

I intended to review it, but the book launch made that timing awkward.

In how much detail have you outlined the future of the cradle series, and possibly travellers gate series if that is to continue?

    Will Wight

I've outlined a lot of the key events and players in Cradle, but idk when or how I'm going to get to them. Traveler's Blade I just have a bunch of ideas, very little of which I would call an outline.

    Questioner

Why aren't your books available for pre order?

    Will Wight

With Kindle Direct Publishing, I could put the book up for pre-order anytime up to three days prior to the release date (which was yesterday). Had I done that, which all the publishers do, not only would you have been able to pre-order, but the book would come out at exactly midnight in every region that allows this system.

I don’t do it that way for two reasons. First, in the past, pre-orders have killed the Day 1 ratings spike I need to generate interest in the book. When I tried this before, I lost money by having pre-orders.

Now, Amazon may have changed how this works by now. They’re tweaking stuff all the time. But that’s why I only tried pre-orders once and haven’t since.

Second, I make changes to the book all the way up until the moment I release it. I rewrote a scene two hours ago and made some formatting changes just now. I’ll be tweaking that up until the release.

Instead of stopping that process two weeks ago and having the book uploaded, ready to release at exactly midnight on June 1st, I chose to keep working on it and upload it the night of May 31st.

Does that mean that the exact release time depends on how long Amazon takes to build a landing page for the book? Yes. But last time it took them about 45 minutes after upload for Amazon.com, so it’s not likely to be too bad.

The main “risk” here is in other domains, like Amazon.co.uk, where the landing page takes longer to create.
