Question for Will: Are you planning any stories on iterations outside of abidan control? You hinted at a few in one of Suriels chapters, the ones about creatures capable of killing Ozriel, but we have not truly seen any.     (Personally, at first I thought amalgam was outside, until told otherwise. It seemed chaotic with the territories and Valin making one)

    Will Wight

    Yes!

if a Sacred Artist used a technique enough in life, is it possible for that technique to be transfered through the bonding of their remnant?

    Will Wight

Yes, and this was one of the three reasons for bindings being a thing.

1.) So that sacred artists can inherit techniques from the spirits of their fallen masters/predecessors.

2.) So that Soulsmiths can use techniques as materials.

3.) So that rivals on similar/compatible Paths could potentially kill someone possessing a remarkable technique and steal that technique.

did dragons evolve as a species or are they a result of their status of Sacred Beast?

    Will Wight

I don't know if this is a spoiler or not, so I'll answer it anyway: sacred beast, but dragons exist in many forms in different Iterations similar to humanity     So the relationship and origin of dragons is a subject of study among Abidan

Do you have a small example for a sword related beast   Like is it an animal     With a sword or with sharp claws

    Will Wight

It would be more like with sharp claws, though I'm not against a species of sacred beast that uses sword madra/aura to make sharp weapons     Tool-using sacred beasts do exist

I'm rereading the books right now, and I've got a question about Sacred Beasts. Sorry if this was in the books already and I missed it, that happens a lot for me. Eithan mentions that when he was young he had a breeding pair from a lineage of sacred beasts. Does this mean all sacred beasts have kids that are also sacred beasts?

    Will Wight

I wouldn't say all, but in general yes. Snowfoxes from Sacred Valley started off as one fox that lived long enough to advance, but now it's a whole race of little snowfoxes that are sacred beasts from birth.

Is the age slowing an order of magnitude as you advance or is there xnumber of years added for each stage?

    Will Wight

For the Lord realm, your body is re-forged in stronger soulfire each time you advance, so your body is made more like it was in your prime. If you were younger than your prime, you would look older, and older people look younger. Then, from there on, you age more slowly. It gets stronger each time you advance, but it only happens when you advance, so basically Jai Daishou's only hope of living significantly longer would have been to hit Overlord. Which he accepted that he couldn't do.

Quick one: how old was Jai Daichou?

    Will Wight

I'd have to look at my notes, but if I remember correctly, like 120-130?

    Tievel

    Wow, younger than I thought

    Will Wight

Yeah, not as old as people think. I will say, though, that I could be wrong about that because I don't have my character notes in front of me.

    dyring

There was a quote in the books stating he had been underlord for over a century thou, I thought he became underlord late?

    Will Wight

You could very well be right. Maybe he was 160-170.

I know your pain, Anu. I was inspired to try my hand at my take on xianxia, but I can't get past that any of my takes on the magic system want to be based on Cradle, and aren't as good without being a straight copycat. Vital aura, specifically, may be my favorite magic innovation I've ever read.

    Will Wight

There are a lot of changes I'd make to the Cradle magic system if I got a do-over. The general shape of it would stay the same, but basically I would use harder definitions so that people understand what's going on more.     It's hard because I was trying to start with people who kind of but not really knew how the magic worked so that I could build out from there, because most people are just giving their beliefs and theories on how the sacred arts works. But as a result it's gotten confusing, so I would have been clearer from the beginning.

speaking of questions for will were the dreadgods inspired at all by the endbringers in worm or are they just very similar in concepts

    Will Wight

Not really. I hope they end up being similar in execution later on in the series, because his execution of the Endbringers was my second-favorite part of that series, but I needed some giant monsters to serve a specific plot function later on.

In cradle at what stage could a sacred or a dread beast become Godzilla sized.

    Will Wight

The Dreadbeasts are Monarch-level or better, and some of them are Godzilla sized. Most sacred beasts are not that large, regardless of their advancement.     Most Monarchs aren't either, as Polycore pointed out.

If Lindon was a character in overwatch, what would his ultimate be? What would Simons be

    Will Wight

Lindon's: Void Dragon's Dance. His passive in Blackflame form would leave little black flames around the battlefield as he uses his abilities, kind of like Reaper's old passive. His ult would detonate all of those flames in a massive nova.   Simon's: Mask of Valinhall. Gives him armor and shield and greatly increases move speed and attack damage for the duration. If he doesn't have some sort of mobility skill in his kit, like a double jump or a dash or something, he gets one during his ult.

    Questioner

How do people on Cradle get information quickly for the average person? Does somebody come around on horseback delivering mail? Does somebody on a speed path run around delivering and picking up letters? Is there a portal system in place?

    Will Wight

Most countries have some kind of a postal system run by sacred artists who can travel long distances quickly. Some of them use sacred beasts as mounts, but others do run it by foot. There are also communication constructs that can relay information over distances. Most of them are more like telegraphs than telephones.

What is the Cradle analogue of a TV ? Like what do average people do to chill ?

    Will Wight

What people do to relax on Cradle varies wildly depending on where you are. Some people have access to devices that record audio and video, so they have what is essentially a TV. For cultures with advanced dream tablets, they have accessible virtual reality experiences, and use those for entertainment. And of course they have books and games and everything else people did to entertain themselves before TV.

What can Dream madra do besides read Fate? Are Time and/or Space actual madra aspects?

    Will Wight

Dream madra affects thoughts and perception.Space madra is somewhat different than most aspects; it's not shaping madra INTO space, as that makes no sense, but there is a way to develop madra so that it affects space.

Are remnants capable of having a society? Is there anywhere with particularly intelligent remnants and what do they do on a daily basis

    Will Wight

Some of them are intelligent enough and capable of forming a society, yes. However, they're still Remnants: they're bound by the nature of their madra and the impulses that drove them when they were formed. So they don't interact as naturally as people do, no matter how intelligent they are.On a daily basis, they pursue "food," or compatible madra suitable to maintain their form and advance them. Some of the more intelligent Remnants have renewable sources of madra--which means human communities--where they can get their power, either from stealing scales or from making deals with humans.
